Cordyline Australis Red Star
Share
Cordyline australis Red Star is a perennial plant suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, belonging to the Asparagaceae family. This evergreen shrub-like plant can reach 1.5 meters in height. It has a short, sturdy trunk from which long, reddish-tinged leaves develop, initially erect and then arching at the tips. It flowers in summer and produces a panicle-shaped inflorescence with small, cream-colored, fragrant flowers. It is prized for its ornamental leaves and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor spaces, as it is cold-resistant, provided temperatures do not fall below freezing. It prefers mild temperatures and direct sunlight, but tolerates partial shade. For thriving growth, fertile, well-drained soil rich in organic matter is recommended. Regular watering is important, especially during the hottest periods, avoiding waterlogging.
