Callistemon laevis is a slow-growing, evergreen shrub with a graceful, drooping, and spreading habit, reaching a maximum height of about 2 m. When grown in pots, the plant rarely exceeds one meter in height. The leaves are a beautiful pinkish-red color with a silky effect when young, later turning light green, lanceolate in shape, and broader than the parent species. The flowers are gathered in cylindrical inflorescences (spikes) with a typical bottle-brush shape, 10–15 cm long, and bright red in color due to the prominent stamens; flowering occurs in summer.
