Black cherry

It is a deciduous tree with medium-high vigor and excellent productivity, reaching a maximum height of about 8 meters. The trunk is straight and smooth, dark brown in color, with slightly pointed, oval-shaped leaves of a bright green color that turn reddish in autumn.
Flowering occurs in early spring, producing pendulous flowers with five white petals and golden stamens, from which the fruit develops. The Amarena Florina cherry ripens in July. The fruit is medium-sized, spherical in shape, with a dark red skin, while the flesh is lighter, very juicy, and tart. It can be eaten fresh, but is particularly suitable for making syrups, liqueurs, and jams.
This shrub is very hardy and tolerates low temperatures well, making it ideal for planting both in the ground and in containers. It prefers sunny locations but also adapts to areas with mostly partial shade. For lush growth, we recommend using a good-quality, well-drained potting soil, avoiding excessive moisture. Watering should be moderate, avoiding waterlogging.
