It is a rapidly growing deciduous tree that can reach 15-20 meters in height, with a grayish trunk and a dense crown composed of bright green, lanceolate leaves with serrated edges. Flowering occurs in spring, followed by the production of small, reddish fruits similar to blackberries or raspberries, but slightly larger and elongated, with a very sweet flavor. Mulberry is resistant to low temperatures and is easy to grow, adapting to both open ground and container cultivation. It thrives in sunny locations with adequate light exposure, but also tolerates partial shade. The ideal soil is fertile, rich in organic matter, and well-drained. Regular irrigation is required, especially during the summer, but avoiding waterlogging.
