It is a deciduous shrub that can reach a maximum height of 2 meters. Its stems, sometimes thorny and slightly hairy, support medium-sized, pinnate leaves composed of five lobes with serrated edges. Flowering continues until the first frost, with small, five-petaled flowers that are pinkish-white and clustered in clusters. Subsequently, the fruits develop, ripening in summer, usually about two years after planting. These small, yellow fruits have a sweet flavor and are suitable for fresh consumption or for making desserts, jams, and liqueurs.
The yellow raspberry plant is quite robust and tolerates low temperatures well. It prefers direct sun exposure, but can also tolerate light shade. It has no particular soil requirements, but a good-quality, well-drained soil is recommended. Watering should not be excessive, and waterlogging should be avoided.
